Community Health Councils is a member of the Community Advisory Panel (CAP) for the Inglewood Oil Field Community Standards District. In partnership with the CAP, we drafted a letter requesting that the LA County Department of Public Health begin the process of conducting the next Health Assessment and Environmental Justice Study, which must be completed by June 2019. The letter also detailed recommendations on study methodology that would address some of the limitation of the prior study. Community Health Councils, along with the CAP, are committed to improving the health outcomes for people living, working, and playing in close proximity to the Inglewood Oil Field.
If you are interested in participating in this discussion, please join us at the next CAP meeting:
CAP Meeting – Thursday, April 26, 2018 @ 7:00 PM
Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area Community Center
Additionally, Community Health Councils would like to re-convene the Greater Baldwin Hills Alliance on a regular basis to address ongoing and emerging challenges around the Inglewood Oil Field. As such, I invite interested parties to fill out the 2018 GBHA Member Survey so we can determine a core group of members as well as the most pressing issues from the community’s perspective.
If you are interested, please fill out the survey by Monday, May 7th COB. Please also feel free to share this survey with friends, family, and neighbors who may be interested in joining the coalition.
